01 / PROBLEM
Problem#
The desktop, theme, input method, and development tools together form a working environment. When their configuration is scattered across live files, dependencies, reasons for changes, and recovery steps are hard to keep consistent.
02 / STRUCTURE
Structure#
The flake brings inputs and host entry points together. host describes the system layer, and home describes the user layer. Shared foundations, desktop sessions, and themes are organized separately, with GNOME added as an independent variant.
03 / TRADEOFF
Trade-offs#
NixOS and Home Manager declare the configuration, while local derivations provide packages not yet available in the channel. This requires maintaining locked inputs, module relationships, and hardware boundaries, and distinguishing reusable combinations from machine-specific configuration.
04 / RESULT
Outcome#
The repository publishes a host configuration and a component-organized Wiki, with checking and activation treated as separate stages. The source provides a structure that can be reviewed; it does not establish that every configuration has run successfully on the current machine.
05 / SOURCE
Source & evidence#
These notes refer to revision ac5ae38a66. They do not establish results for every runtime environment.
