01 / PROBLEM
Problem#
An image-based candidate highlight cannot be updated through a simple color field alone. Candidate windows embedded in GTK also need a complete theme configuration. Overriding a few scattered fields makes it difficult to keep highlights and text consistent across interfaces.
02 / STRUCTURE
Structure#
Matugen templates pair primary and on_primary for the highlight background and text, generating both the highlight SVG and a complete theme.conf. Base assets live in the theme package; Home Manager copies them into a user-writable directory for Matugen to update.
03 / TRADEOFF
Trade-offs#
Immutable base assets are kept separate from the mutable runtime theme. The shape and layout of Mellow WeChat are preserved. Wallpaper selection, light/dark mode state, and input-method restarts remain with the existing desktop setup, keeping the theme module focused.
04 / RESULT
Outcome#
The repository provides light, dark, blurred, and solid-color variants, along with installation combinations. Its README records native blur verification on Hyprland. This page presents the verification documented by the project, without adding test claims that this site has not established.
05 / SOURCE
Source & evidence#
These notes refer to revision 4c73fb2b76. They do not establish results for every runtime environment.
